Itinerary
Day 1: Sabaduri Forests - Ujarma Fortress - Gombori Pass - Shuamta Monastery Complex - Alaverdi - Matsoni House - Tsinandali Palace – Gremi Castle - Ilia Lake - Kvareli Cave Winery - Night in Sighnaghi
Our journey begins amidst the lush greenery of Sabaduri Forests, where towering trees and tranquil streams create a peaceful atmosphere. It's the perfect place to stretch your legs and immerse yourself in nature before continuing your exploration.
Next, we will visit Ujarma Fortress, an ancient stronghold perched atop a hilltop.
From there, we will traverse the Gombori Pass, winding your way through breathtaking mountain scenery. The journey offers stunning views at every turn, with rugged peaks and verdant valleys stretching out before you.
Your next stop is the Shuamta Monastery Complex, a collection of historic churches nestled amidst tranquil surroundings.
Continuing on, we will visit Alaverdi, home to the iconic Alaverdi Monastery and the charming Matsoni House, where you can sample traditional Georgian yogurt.
Our journey then takes you to the majestic Tsinandali Palace, a stunning architectural gem surrounded by lush gardens and vineyards. It's a place where history and beauty converge, offering a glimpse into Georgia's rich cultural heritage.
As the day draws to a close, you'll visit the imposing Gremi Castle, a medieval fortress steeped in history and legend.
Finally, we will unwind at Ilia Lake, a tranquil oasis where you can relax and reflect on the day's adventures before heading to the Kvareli Cave Winery for a tasting of Georgia's famous wines.
As the sun sets over the picturesque town of Sighnaghi, we will settle in for the night.
Day 2: Sighnaghi – Bodbe Monastery - Badiauri Village - David Gareja cave town - Colorful Mountains - Return to Tbilisi
We will start a day in Sighnaghi, visit its streets, and take beautiful photos with colorful carpets hanging on the wall. Here we can visit the Sighnaghi walls and look at the huge Alazani Valley.
Then we will visit Badiauri village to taste delicious Georgian food and drive to David Gareja Monastery .
David Gareja is a cave town and a spiritual sanctuary for monks. At the end of the tour we will visit colorful mountains and return to Tbilisi
Day 3 - Tbilisi Tour: Cable cars - Mother of Georgia statue - Narikala Fortress - Peace Bridge - Sulfur Baths - Leghvtakhevi Waterfall - Rustaveli Avenue - Freedom Square - Night in Tbilisi
Our day begins with a visit to the city's famous spots. First, we will walk across the modern Peace Bridge, connecting different parts of the city. After that, we will use a cable car for a thrilling ride with great views of Tbilisi. Then, check out the impressive Mother of Georgia statue, standing tall on Sololaki Hill. It represents the strength of the Georgian people
Next we will explore Narikala Fortress, an ancient castle with amazing views of Old Town Tbilisi. After the walk, we will reach the sulfur baths district where you can take amazing pictures. Then we will get to Leghvtakhevi waterfall in the heart of Tbilisi.
Our next destination will be Rustaveli Avenue, a busy street filled with shops and cafes. Here we will see the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera house, and other significant sightseeing. Finally, we will reach Freedom Square, which is an important spot symbolizing Georgia's fight for freedom.
Day 4: Ananuri Castle - Zhinvali Waterfall - Gudauri Panorama -Truso Valley - Night in Kazbegi
After breakfast, we will make our way to Kazbegi. Our first stop will be Jinvali Water Reservoir - the lake, which was created during the Soviet era.
Very soon after continuing the road, we will visit Ananuri Fortress – a castle and a seat of the Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi.
Our next destination will be the Gudauri panorama. This place is distinguished by a panorama of the valley in the Caucasus mountains. At the end of the day we will take a walk in beautiful truso valley.
Day 5 - Kazbegi Mountains tour: Gergeti Trininty Church - Gveleti Waterfall - Dariali Gorge until Russian Border - Night in Tbilisi
Day will start by driving to Gergeti Trinity Church. There you can feel the spiritual beauty of Georgian mountains. Located on Mount Gergeti, at an altitude of 2170 meters, under the Kazbegi Glacier, overlooking the town. Then we will discover the cascading Gveleti Waterfall. After taking amazing pictures we will go deeper into the Caucasus mountains and visit the Darial valley. Here, in the heart of the Caucasus, we visit the Russian border and the nearby temple. Finally we will drive to Tbilisi.
